Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely. We put the same amount of production and attention into every wedding that we do. Will your wedding have the same energy and vibe? This totally depends on you two and how your day went. No two weddings will be the same and nor do we want them to be.

Your film will be totally unique to you and your day – the energy, the vibe, and how it unfolded.

  • We love to shoot on film!

Our collection of film cameras is something our wives are constantly keeping in check. We offer a Super 8mm add-on where we shoot a roll of 8mm film that we edit into the highlight. We also offer a 3D gif package where use an old film camera to make some fun effects.

  • Absolutely!

We both grew up traveling and have lived abroad, so we are always looking for an opportunity to jump on a plane. Reach out to us directly via email at seafarerfilms@gmail.com so we can work out all the details.

  • Heck yes! And we strongly encourage it. These “Adventure Sessions” as we like to call them, could be anything. Planning a day-after surf? Sign us up! Epic sunset session on a mountain top? We’ll be there! Intimate bonfire the night before your elopement? Count us in!

Capturing this special moments outside of the big day really add so much depth and character to your film.

  • A highlight film is a short 4-8 minute film that captures the best moments of your day to help tell your story. It typically includes all key moments, but if something did not make it in, we do offer raw footage as an add-on.

Our full feature film is an uncut version of your wedding with the full ceremony, speeches and dances. This can be anywhere from 20 minutes to and hour depending on the wedding. You can sit in and rewatch your own wedding years down the line. It can also be great to share with anyone who could not make it to your wedding day.

  • In Orange County, 10-18% of your wedding budget is the average amount spent on videography coverage. Our couples usually spend between $6,500-$8,000.

  • We have worked out our base package so that all the essentials needed to create your epic wedding film are included. We stick to that baseline and here are some of the why’s.

There are no take-two’s. Shooting a wedding is unlike any other scenario. There are no test shots. Everything has to be captured perfectly on the first take, every single time. We bring experience, top notch equipment, and troubleshooting skills to smoothly capture and create a film of your special day.

Our work starts long before you say “I do.” It is our priority to know you as a couple, as well as your wants for the film, well before the big day. We send over a detailed questionnaire that gives us insight into who you are and what you value, so that those elements can be felt in the film.

It takes two to tango… And to shoot a wedding. There is so much excitement and movement throughout the day. We love this energy and especially love to have different angles that captures all these beautiful moments. A second shooter is a must for us since these different angles bring so much richness to the film.

Audio matters.  Crisp, clear, quality audio is the heartbeat of the film. It’s what makes it yours. Your best man’s toast, your sister’s retelling of a story, your exchanging of vows. We bring our extensive audio setup every time with backups on backups to make sure all those special words shared throughout the day are recorded.

Gear matters.  Although it is amazing what you can capture on an iPhone these days, there is an undeniable difference in quality when using cinema gear. And you bet we bring all the high tech goods, including cinema cameras, lights, gimbals, drones and much more!

We spend hours on hours in the edit room.  After the magic of the wedding day has been lived, we comb through hundreds of gigabytes of content so that you can relive and reminisce on your special day. Every clip and sound bite is reviewed to make sure a single moment that might add to your film is not missed. This takes time. It is our mission to make sure the edit represents you as a couple.

Your wedding day happens once. The film is what you can watch over and over, so quality in all aspects is what we provide.

  • We address this on our questionnaire. Your dream song becomes our compass in choosing the music that best fits your film. Some songs are great to listen to, but may not be the best choice for a wedding film. We use music that builds and has an arc. Often times, the songs we all love lack those crucial elements.

Another important reason is we license all of the music we use. It is illegal to use any song without first purchasing a license. Often times with mainstream music it can cost thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of dollars to use a particular song. However, with that being said, we have been lucky with a few couples in getting licensing permissions for their dream songs!
